A contemporary advisory office prepared for a private meeting

About us

Guidance built on listening first.

Beyond Education is an independent advisory for families considering a Swiss education. We are paid to be useful, not to be persuasive.

An education adviser in conversation with a student

Our story

Founded to make an opaque process clearer

Families researching Swiss boarding schools face a wall of prospectuses, each one beautifully produced and almost identical in tone. What is missing is someone who knows the schools well enough to explain how they actually differ day to day.

Beyond Education was established to fill that gap. We visit campuses, keep direct relationships with admissions teams, and follow how students settle after they arrive — which is the only honest measure of whether a placement worked.

We would rather lose a placement than recommend a school where we believe a student would be unhappy.

Our values

Four commitments we hold to

These are not aspirations. They are the standards families should hold us to.

Integrity

We recommend what we believe is right for the student, and we say plainly when a school is not a good match.

Personal attention

Every family works directly with an adviser who knows their situation in detail from the first conversation onward.

International perspective

We understand how families move between education systems and what that transition asks of a young person.

Long-term student wellbeing

Academic results matter, but so does whether a student is settled, healthy and genuinely engaged.

Our approach

How we work with families

Our method is deliberately simple, and it holds whether a family is placing a nine-year-old or preparing a sixth-former for university applications.
  • —Listen before recommending
  • —Focus on student fit rather than rankings alone
  • —Communicate clearly with families
  • —Provide organised application guidance
  • —Remain available through the transition

Our process

Five steps, at the family's pace

  1. 1

We get to know your child

We talk to the family and understand the student's needs, character, academic goals and expectations.

  2. 2

    We create a shortlist

We shortlist the schools that are a particularly good fit for the student.

  3. 3

    We arrange introductions and visits

We assist communication between the family and schools, arrange visits and act as one contact point.

  4. 4

    We support the application

We guide the family through applications, documentation and interview preparation.

  5. 5

    We support the transition

We stay with the family after the decision, supporting preparation until the school year begins and through the first term.
